“Dreamers Who Do”
Intrapreneurs be encouraged! 👇 You follow in the footsteps of some inspiring, tenacious trailblazers like Steve Jobs who work within a company.
Jobs actually used this niche word to describe his own work:
“The Macintosh team was what is commonly known as intrapreneurship … a group of people going, in essence, back to the garage, but in a large company." -- Newsweek 1985
The Godparents of intrapreneurship, Gifford and Libba Pinchot defined intrapreneurs simply as “dreamers who do.” So by that measure, certainly that fits Jobs! 💡
Steve Jobs worked within a company, alongside teammates with big ideas of their own, a board of directors and other constraints. And yet, like you, he found a way to leverage the larger corporate capabilities to make big progress on the hard things that matter the most, bringing tenacity and passion to his work. 💪

I enjoyed this podcast a few weeks ago featuring Guy Kawasaki, one of Steve Jobs’ teammates. Guy shares a story of Steve dramatically changing his mind on a key feature in the early days of the iPhone; a moment of great teamwork and flexibility. 🏋♂️
