On Tenacity

I’ve seen dynamic trailblazers like our clients Eric or Josh – playing competitive rugby or running marathons in China while also demonstrating the highest levels of patience, teamwork and flexibility.  🏃‍♂️

Clients like Katie or Dale bring humble, quiet perseverance over the long haul as part of their intrapreneurial leadership style.  Not playing rugby on the weekends, yet leading with dogged consistency, clear accountability and determination every day.

#5 in Pinchot’s “Ten Commandments for Intrapreneurs” states: “Do any job needed to make your dream work, regardless of your job description.”

Yes, bring your classic “go-getter attributes” – self-confidence, will, proactivity.  (see Deloitte article below).  And also keep the original spark and dream alive, your clean fuel for the long journey ahead.

“Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.” – Langston Hughes

Be Scrappy

I loved this episode from The Table Group back in January.  It has stuck with me for months.  They mention the idea of “better to ask for forgiveness than permission”, which also happens to be #6 on the Pinchot list!  Great minds think alike.

Pinchot’s 10 Commandments

Here is the full list, which will give you a bit of context into how #5 and #6 fit into the whole.  (A bit of balance with #7, for example: “Keep the best interests of the company and its customers in mind” as all great intrapreneurs do!)
