Working Genius 1

In this new series, we’re mashing up two of our favorite things — #Intrapreneurship and #WorkingGenius. Put ‘em together and what do you get?! 🤔

Intrapreneurship & the 6 Types of Working Genius 💡

The title almost sounds like a children’s story, but this is no fairy tale! 🗡️ Workplace innovation doesn’t just come from leadership or R&D teams — it happens inside organizations, driven by employees who see opportunities and take action.

As described by Louis Gump in his book “The Inside Innovator”, this individual is known as an #intrapreneur — someone who:

✅ Leads change within a larger organization.
✅ Creates value through innovation and growth.
✅ Develops new products and services that shape industries.

Also known as an #InsideInnovator, their success depends on using their ‘Working Genius’ effectively. The Working Genius by The Table Group has been very helpful here at Kiza! We’ve used this framework extensively in hiring, in building effective teams, and in getting to know our clients better.

The #6TypesOfWorkingGenius — Wonder, Invention, Discernment, Galvanizing, Enablement, and Tenacity — help us understand why some people thrive in certain roles while others struggle. When individuals align their work with their Genius, innovation comes alive.

So grab your metaphorical cape (or at least your coffee), and let’s meet the first of the six Geniuses: Wonder — The Catalyst for Workplace Innovation

“What if we did this differently?”
“Why is this process so inefficient?”
“What’s missing that could make this better?”

Every breakthrough starts with a question, and that’s where the Genius of Wonder shines.

Intrapreneurs often lead with Wonder. They notice gaps and imagine what’s possible — even when no one’s asking for it.

But Wonder needs partners:

✓ Without Invention, questions never turn into solutions.
✓ Without Discernment, ideas can get lost in the noise.
✓ Without Galvanizing, ideas fail to gain traction.
✓ Without Enablement, even the best ideas struggle to get the support they need.
✓ Without Tenacity, innovation never gets fully realized.

That’s why the most successful Wonder intrapreneurs don’t just ask “What if?”—they surround themselves with others who help bring their vision to life.

Does your team make space for Wonder? Could one powerful question spark your next great solution?

Next up: Invention — the Genius that turns great questions into bold ideas. Stay tuned! 🚀
