Working Genius 2
In our last episode (cue dramatic narrator voice), we met the Genius of Wonder — the #intrapreneur who asks the big questions that get innovation rolling.
But someone has to answer those questions. So let’s don our metaphorical cape again, and meet the next Working Genius: Invention. ⚙️
Intrapreneurs with the Genius of Invention don’t just spot problems — they start something, draw it up, and build a prototype. They sketch ideas on whiteboards, napkins, and occasionally, the back of someone else’s meeting agenda. 😅
They often start questions with the generous and curious prompt, “how might we …?"
They ask things like:
✅ “What if we solved it this way?”
✅ “How might we design a new process that skips all the clunky parts?”
✅ “What if we used this tech instead?”
But every #InsideInnovator needs their sidekicks — the kind who can spot a flaw, rally the troops, and help land the idea on time:
✓ Without Wonder, they may be solving the wrong problem.
✓ Without Discernment, their ideas can sound better than they actually are.
✓ Without Galvanizing, even the coolest concepts collect dust.
✓ Without Enablement, they’ll be all prototypes and no production.
✓ Without Tenacity, well… don’t even talk to them about documentation. 🫣
That’s why the best Inventors don’t go it alone — they build with others who sharpen, rally, support, and finish.
Does your team give Inventors the space to dream, prototype, and fail forward?
Next up: Discernment — the quiet superpower that sees what will (and won’t) work. Stay tuned! 👀
