How to Eat the Elephant

In our recent team discussion, we shared stories about that specific moment of #Uncertainty — when the path forward looks murky and the destination remains #Unknown.

#Intrapreneurs, we know you’ve been there. You stare at a blank whiteboard or a massive, complex architecture diagram having absolutely no idea where to start. 🤯

But as we swapped stories about how we tackle the "hard stuff," a consensus emerged: We may feel tempted to wait for clarity to take action, but in reality, #TakingAction actually can create new understanding.

If you feel stuck on a big initiative, here are three ways to "eat the elephant" without getting overwhelmed: 🏃‍♂️💨

1. Bring Confident Humility 🧘

Adopt this mindset shift. Approach the problem with the confidence that you will eventually solve it, but the humility to admit you need to peel back more layers first. Release the pressure to have the answer instantly; just focus on asking "Why?" until you understand the root cause.

2. Try Methodical Experimentation 🧪

You rarely need the final fix immediately . Treat the problem like a science experiment. Server crashing? Test the specs. Consult best practices and see what happens. Learning what doesn't work often reveals what does.

3. Put Something on the Page 🎨

Whether you face writer's block or a complex technical challenge, the blank page remains the hardest hurdle. The best tactic? Just put something down. Draw a single box. Add a few fields to the layout. "Eating the elephant" happens one bite at a time, and often that first small bite breaks the psychological block. 🍽️

💡 The #Takeaway: You can't really solve problems from the sidelines; you have to play the game. 🏟️

Even if your first step seems "wrong," it provides data you didn't have before, moving you closer to the right answer . So don't worry about having the perfect map—just start walking.👟
