Understand that #InnovationChampions come from a different world. They may simply be running quickly, doing too many things at once to build the full process at the outset. They tend to have a certain risk tolerance that we engineers might not share. 👟

Here’s how you can pull it off in style, how you can run quickly without running out of steam:

✅ Get clear approval for a pilot phase of a new initiative
✅ Build the process as you build the pilot phase, simulating the full lifecycle
✅ Create your committee, and your cadence — involve others outside of IT
✅ Solicit ideas for the innovation pipeline
✅ Democratize the prioritization process
✅ Create estimates — those with a great plan, make it easy and get the authority
