Unlocking Intrapreneurship: How Design Thinking Ignites Innovation

We’re excited to launch a brand-new series exploring a question that drives so many leaders, founders, and teams: How do we truly spark #Intrapreneurship?

❓How do we activate it in our organizations? 🤔

❓How do we ignite innovation from within? 🤨

❓How do we empower teams to turn ideas into impact? 🧐

Hello, Intrapreneurship fans across the world. 🌍

This series is designed to connect the dots — to help you identify where your company is today, and what it takes to move forward.

A shout-out to Bill Bennett, Megan B., Jason Wren, and Cedric Bankaso 🎉 — your insights are inspiring the next wave of innovation. Thank you for lighting the spark! 🔥

Maybe you already have talented, creative teams. Maybe you’ve seen sparks of innovation. But perhaps those sparks fizzle out because teams lack context, clear roles, or meaningful rewards.

Sometimes great ideas take off like a rocket 🚀— only to stall because they don’t have the right executive sponsorship to keep them going. We’re seeing this play out more and more with AI initiatives, as noted in recent research from McKinsey & Company and coverage in the The New York Times. Without direct CEO engagement, even the most promising ideas can lose momentum.

So what can you do? Where do you start? 🤷‍♂️

We believe the answer lies in #DesignThinking — a methodology born at Stanford’s d.school, adopted worldwide, and proven across industries. It’s the same approach used by Claris, an Apple company for rapid innovation, and it’s deeply embedded in Apple's DNA. You can feel its impact every time you use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac — products designed with intention not just for function, but for the experience and emotion they create.

At its core, Design Thinking blends #SystemsDesign and #Engineering with #HumanEmpathy. It’s a holistic, people-first approach that asks not just what we’re doing, but why we’re doing it, and what the ultimate impact will be. In our experience, that combination produces gold. In today’s fast-paced world, Intrapreneurship isn’t a luxury — it’s essential. Empowered teams drive real results, and innovation can no longer be siloed in IT. That ship sailed long ago. Innovation is everyone’s responsibility.

Design Thinking provides the roadmap. It’s the process that ignites a new era of innovation — whether through internal workshops run by IT, or with guidance from trusted partners like Kiza Solutions. These workshops can happen in a two- or three-day in-person sprint, whiteboards and coffee in hand, or in a series of remote sessions spread over weeks. Both approaches work. ✅

We’re thrilled to take you on this journey — exploring how Design Thinking can transform ideas into lasting impact, and how you can build a culture of Intrapreneurship from the inside out.

Let’s get started! 🏃‍♂️‍➡️
